Job Responsibilities
- Provide the highest standard of nursing care for children, young people and their families
- Plan, assess, implement and evaluate programmes of care and supervise other staff
- Ensure a welcoming, caring and safe environment on the ward
- Carry out treatments prescribed by medical staff and communicate changes in condition
- Assist in the education and practical training of learners and junior staff
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in line with NMC, CQC and Trust standards
Requirements
- Essential: NMC Registered Nurse (appropriate to clinical specialty) and relevant nursing qualification
- Essential: Evidence of ongoing professional development and competencies
- Essential: Experience working with acute or chronically sick children or transferable skills
- Essential: Understanding of professional issues, research, safeguarding, revalidation and clinical governance
- Essential: Excellent communication, numeracy, time management and team-working skills
- Desirable: Assessor or practice supervisor experience and previous specialty experience
