Job Responsibilities
- Deliver person-centred care to patients aged 65 and over with functional mental illness on Oak Ward
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care plans in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team
- Administer and manage medicines safely, including injections where required
- Act as named nurse and support the day-to-day running of the ward
- Promote recovery, safeguard patients and adhere to the Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act
- Support student nurses and facilitate team development
Requirements
- Current NMC registration as RNMH or RNLD
- Experience working with people with mental ill health or learning disabilities in a person-centred setting
- Understanding of relevant legislation, safeguarding, clinical risk and medicines management
- Willingness to become a practice assessor or mentor and trained clinical supervisor within agreed timescales
- Evidence of continuing professional development
