Job Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate evidence-based nursing care for patients in the cath labs
- Provide technical, procedural and patient-centred support during cardiac procedures
- Participate in the 24/7 on-call rota for emergency admissions after training
- Mentor, assess and support students and learners in the clinical area
- Maintain accurate records and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team
- Contribute to quality standards and service development in interventional cardiology
Requirements
- Essential: RGN registration, 12 months post-registration NHS experience in an acute setting, competence with acutely unwell patients
- Physical ability to wear lead protection for extended periods in a radiology environment
- Willingness to undertake specialist cath labs training and on-call duties
- Desirable: previous experience in cardiology, cath labs, critical care or theatres
- Not required: newly qualified nurses
