About the Employer
KO2 Embedded Recruitment Solutions is a specialist recruiter placing embedded software and electronics engineers. The role is for a client, an expanding engineering business investing in its Cambridge software team.
Job Responsibilities
- Architect and develop embedded firmware on Zephyr RTOS, with some bare-metal work
- Bring up prototype boards from first power using debugger, scope and logic analyser
- Design and maintain board-to-board interfaces including CAN, SPI, I²C, UART and RS422
- Build networked services including REST APIs, SNMP agents and OpenAPI specifications
- Develop and debug TCP and UDP layers and secure communications including authentication and firmware update
- Perform embedded Linux work on Yocto platforms and lead root cause analysis
- Collaborate with hardware and systems engineers on data and control interfaces
Requirements
- Substantial commercial experience of low-level embedded software and firmware
- Strong, demonstrable commercial Zephyr RTOS experience including devicetree, Kconfig and west
- Solid C and C++ skills for resource-constrained hardware
- Confidence reading schematics and datasheets plus board bring-up experience
- Practical debugging skills with scopes, logic analysers and software tools
